The editor Valentinus Loch, born on September 24, 1813 in Bamberg, Germany, was a Catholic theologian and priest. His main interest were his translations of the Bible in Latin and ancient Greek; he also edited the Biblia Sacra vulgatae editionis and the Septuaginta. He died on June 14, 1893 in Bamberg.
