Valérie Rousseau is curator, self-taught art and art brut at the American Folk Art Museum, New York. Her publications include The Hidden Art: 20th and 21st Century Self-Taught Art and Revealing Art Brut. Debra Purden is an American historian and Bill Traylor specialist. She has been part of the curatorial team at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, and has held positions at the Field Museum of Natural History, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Chicago Cultural Center. Published in collaboration with the American Folk Art Museum, New York. Note: a major exhibition, "Between Worlds: The Art of Bill Traylor," is on view at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC, Sept 28, 2018-Mar 17, 2019.
