This thesis focuses on how women s situation in India effects the countries development, with respect to secondary education, female labor force participation and active population growth, measuring these variables effect on Human Development Index (HDI).

I¿m an economics student from Sweden. I have a bachelor of science in European studies with economics as main field of study from Linnaeus University. In 2012 I¿m expecting to get a master¿s degree in social sciences with economics as a major from Uppsala University.
