Raised in South Florida and of Haitian descent, Velouse Smith knows first-hand how difficult it can be to make sense of your cultural background as a child. She hopes to use her writing to give children from multicultural families the emotional support and insight they need to feel proud of their unique identities.Velouse Smith works in STEM in her day job, but she enjoys unleashing her creative side and expressing herself through various media, including writing, music, and dancing.
