Canadian composer Miles Parizonasky and English cellist Vienna Markham live on different sides of the world when their lives are suddenly intertwined through their mutual love of music. Miles is ready to record his first album, but there is something missing in the harmony of his original piece "Waterfalls." When he sees a poster of a girl playing the cello, he knows he has found his answer-now he just needs to find her. Vienna is practicing her cello when she receives the call that her twin brother Stefan has suffered a tragic accident. As she races to the hospital, Miles views the news report of Stefan's accident and realizes the girl he saw in the poster is Vienna. He knows he must seek her out and ask her to play on his debut album, but recognizes her life is in obvious turmoil. Eventually, Vienna's manager arranges a recording session for the two artists. Even though they have never met, Miles and Vienna become acquainted from across an ocean and begin to slowly fall in love. Through intense rehearsals, performances, and photo shoots, Stefan fights to recover as Miles and Vienna rely on hope and harmony to carry them through to a passionate conclusion in Oceans Apart.
