They tell him Baker international transport company is being scrutinised, they're aware of his criminal activities but need evidence by which to convict him and the car gives that opportunity. Jenny Robin attends their meeting. Vic's intrigued she's the beautiful woman he saw in the Dusseldorf court. She has her own reasons to see Baker's demise blaming him for her husband's death. The trio devise a plan to trap Baker making him bid for the drugs and his car. Baker, infuriated kidnaps Jenny aboard his boat bartering her for the car. Vic leaps aboard Bakers boat to rescue her. Fighting at sea the boat catches fire. Jenny and Vic take refuge in a dinghy and drift away as the boat explodes and Baker's blown to smithereens. Devastated by the death of his parents at the age of fourteen, orphaned he's taken into a residential trust school in Highbury, North London. His education included English, German and Mathematics. His parental home is sold in his absence. Destitute, he's forced into the Army at the latter half of the WWII. He is trained as an infantry man and served in the North African Desert, Malayan jungle and Europe, into Germany. He's twice very seriously injured and survived.
