The thesis titled "Comparative Study of Industrialization in India vis-à-vis select developed nations during 1985-86 to 2000-2001", begins with a brief note on economic profile of select nations of the study during the reference period and schematically proceeds to provide an in-depth analysis of its objectives by examining the sources of output growth, elasticity of factor substitution, technical progress, total factor productivity and demand for labour in the industrial manufactures. In all these analyses, the subject has been treated giving emphasis on a comparative analysis of the pattern and characteristics of industrialization in India vis-à-vis the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, the UK and South Korea at three digits ISIC disaggregation for the time period 1985-86 to 2000- 2001.
