Autorenporträt
Vindu Maharaj was born to Indian parents in the regional town of Labasa, Fiji, in the 1960s and moved to the capital city of Suva before her first birthday. In the late '70s, married at eighteen and having children was the norm amongst Fiji Indians and she was no exception. She migrated with her family to Sydney, Australia, in 1985, where she studied business accounting and worked in the banking and airline industries. Years later, she decided to give it all up to start writing. Vindu joined the Fellowship of Australian Writers in 2013 and began writing short stories and entertaining pieces, of which ten have been published in the writers' magazine FreeXpresSion over a two-year period. She has also published some short stories in the group's anthology, Roaring Silence, in 2015. Vindu and her husband, Ambika, have three sons.
