Current engineering is found in a state of evolution and very advanced structured in relation to the middle twentieth century engineering. Using complex work tools based on sophisticated mathematical models initiated the emergence of the simulators. These huge volume of calculation and comprehension programs is based on traditional assumptions and experience of researchers from different scientific fields. The programs are used by a specialist team or individuals from narrow work areas. These tools are often "black boxes" for users. This presents dangers of misuse of programs and breaking of the communication between specialists. Humanity is at a dangerous crossroad (modern version of the Tower of Babel): complicating the investigative tools at the same pace or slowing at the same time strengthening basic knowledge. In the sense of the last choice, the authors of this paper are exposing the connections between classical and modern solutions in a particular field of vehicle research and design. One seeks to encourage the usage of complex calculation to investigate the consequences of seemingly minor changes from assumptions and their effects.
