This is a book of monograph on the genus Michelia (Magnoliaceae) from Vietnam. It was written to fill the need I perceive for all Michelia Plants from Vietnam based on specimens of most herbaria in the world as well as in Vietnam and the tens of years from the field trips. The book was funded by the LAMBERT Academic Publishing (LAP) of Germany. This is a monograph to introduce all Michelia species of Vietnam to experts, academic readers and related audiences to Botany. It was based on mainly taxonomic work and divided into as follows: (1) Introduction to flora and the family Magnoliaceae as well as genus Michelia from Vietnam and brief review of studied history on Magnolias in Vietnam; (2) The morphological characteristics of Magnolias and Michelia Plants; (3) Twenty two Michelia Plants from Vietnam, each species including: Latin name, synonym names, vernacular names, description, distribution and ecology, notes, specimens examined and photos or drawings. Author wish to gratefully acknowledge to all herbaria such as P, K, BM, NHN, IBSC, KUN, HN, HNU, VNF, VNM, etc. for permiting the examination of specimens, to all National Parks and Nature Reserve in Vietnam for their helps.
Autorenporträt
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vu Quang Nam obtained his Advanced Master in Leiden University in 2007. In 2011 he got his PhD degree at the South China Botanical Garden in Botany, focusing on the family Magnoliaceae from Vietnam. Since then he has published a lots of International and National papers on this family. He became an Assoc.Prof. in 2015 in Vietnam.
