Autorenporträt
Wes Manko has incorporated his eighteen plus years of teaching Russian Martial Art and woman's self-defense with an academic background consisting of college degrees in Police Science and Criminal Justice, along with a master's degree in Public Administration into making the public aware about how violence can be prevented. He has taught at Marquette University, University of Milwaukee, and Mount Mary university. Through his business, DEFENSEWORKS, he provided training to corporations, non-profit organizations, individuals, and military and law enforcement personnel. In 2005 he received a citation from the Wisconsin State Assembly for his work. He entered the writing arena in 1996 when his article on preventing violence at work became the cover story for City Edition, a Milwaukee news publication. Since then his articles have been published in several national publications including Black Belt Magazine. His books include: Color Me Safe: A Woman's Self-Defense Coloring Book by HenschelHaus Publishing in 2018. Your Best Defense: Smart Strategies for Staying Safe by HenschelHaus Publishing in 2017 and How to Be Safe No Matter What published by Bronze Bow in 2005.
