JARED U. BALMER, PHD,is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in work with adolescents and their families. He attended Brigham Young University and completed a M.Ed. in educational psychology and a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy. He is the cofounder of Rivendell Psychiatric Hospital, Island View RTC, the Oakley School, and the Aspen. Institute for Behavioral Assessment, and he is the co-owner of WayPoint Academy, a specialized residential treatment facility for adolescent boys suffering from the effects of anxiety and related disorders. Jared grew up in Switzerland and currently lives in Utah. He is married with three children and three grandchildren. Island View RTC, the Oakley School, and the Aspen.
