Oxidation is one of the most pervasive problems in almost all metals and their alloys processing at elevated temperatures. Useful to experts and nonspecialists alike, this book keeps enabling a clear focus on the oxides formation, their deformation behaviour and properties during hot strip rolling process. The approaches to examination iron oxides, texture analysis via EBSD and the enthalpy-based numerical simulation, provide the effective frameworks for some investigation on the oxidation of the other steel compositions. A facile and controllable magnetite microstructure is proposed and can be applied to pickle-free steel with desired tribological properties in downstream metal processing. This study is an ideal tool to help you develop working understanding of oxide scale formed on the steel substrate.
