"Dr. Yogender Sharma is a Senior Consultant, in Radiology, in Delhi NCR. He was born in Delhi on 8th December 1946, in a middle class, but an educated, family. He did his schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi. He did his Medical Graduation & Post Graduation from B J Medical College, Ahmedabad, and Super Specialization in Nuclear Medicine, from BARC, Bombay. Dr. Sharma was an average student and went on to become a successful medical doctor and a popular Radiologist of East Delhi by sheer determination and hard work. 'Service before Self' has been his guiding principle in Life. As a doctor, he always had a desire to serve the poor with empathy and compassion. He was very passionate about his work, and about Cancer and it's early detection and organized several Cancer detection camps in and around Delhi with his colleagues from Tata Cancer Hospital. He wanted to establish a Daycare Radiotherapy center with FREE treatment for poor patients but could not succeed in his noble mission and has often regretted this as his biggest failure. He always says that man proposes God disposes. He has accepted his failures with humility.He started Rajendera Foundation - for Community Action!, as a Registered, Non-Profitable, Public Charitable Trust, in 1994, in the fond memory of his dear parents to create awareness against Non Communicable diseases. His wish is to promote all possible health and happiness always! He advocates Preventive Health Check-Up's after 40 and also for School Children. His prescription for healthy living is an active lifestyle with 'walking' as a simple and best habit. He believes in eating well-balanced home cooked food. These are the simple cures against the high prevalence of Obesity, Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Arthritis and even Cancer.....! Avoid sugary carbonated drinks, fast food and fried Indian savory snacks & Sweets as far as possible. He believes that Family that eats walks and prays together stays far more healthier & strong.
