The current experimental model showed the susceptibility of the Ethiopian highland sheep to Haemonchosis and effects of these nematodes on the health of the indigenous sheep breed during single exposure. However, these parasitological, haematological and serum biochemical changes illustrated in this experiment should be further compared with concordant data from field observations after natural infection. The way these animals respond to repeated small dose infections, as it commonly occurs in nature, should also be investigated.
