Yichuan Niu was born in Inner Mongolia, China. He received his B.E. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology in 2009 and his M.E degree in Power Electronics and Electric Drives from the Tongji University in 2012. He was granted the Ph.D. degree by The University of Texas at Austin in 2015.
