Yury Shestakov has finished the Moscow engineering physical institute on a specialty a solid-state physics in 1969; at Kurchatovsky institute has protected the master's thesis in 1987 in the field of high-temperature dense plasma; in 2008 was fond of astronomy for a long time; he is married, has two children, two grandsons and two great-grandsons.
