Yvonne Hayden discovered her love of drawing in high school. For years she has written children's stories and created characters for the annual plays her family performed on Christmas Eve for their own laughs and pleasure. Yvonne was delighted to create the character's for Carl's Closet, which she wrote many years ago. The main character, Carl, was inspired by her husband's childhood pictures. The first book Yvonne illustrated was Yo quiero pasteles/I Want Pasteles, (a bilingual Spanish-English book), which she published in 2017.
