The present book offers a description of the grammar of Gorani, a Kurdish dialect whose specific attribution to that language is still contested by some researchers. The study is based on written sources dated of the 18th-19th centuries and published in Southern (Iraqi) Kurdistan. The analysis of their morphology and syntax allows for the conclusion concerning the status of Gorani which should be attributed to one of the groups of southern Kurdish dialects. Both linguistic and extra-linguistic data suggest that Gorani belongs to Kurdish culture.
