In his Appeal to the World, the Dalai Lama outlines new secular ethics as the foundation of a peaceful century. The answer will come not from religions, but from People embracing an ethics that spans all differences. A provocative and embolding piece of writing by a humble and eminent man of our times.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was born on 6 July 1935. After China occupied Tibet in 1959, the Dalai Lama fled to India, where he has been advocating for Tibet's independence ever since. In 1989, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2011, he handed over political leadership of Tibet to Lobsang Songay, who had been elected prime Minister of the Tibetan Government in Exile. At this point the Dalai Lama wants only to be a "simple monk". Dr. Franz Alt is a television Journalist and bestselling author, born in 1938 in Bruchsal, Germany.
