One of the most successful applications of wireless communications is mobile cellular communications. Mobile users have experienced exponential growth from 2002 to 2012. In India, the mobile subscribers in 2002 are 5.23 million and increased to about 929.37 million by 2012, while overall teledensity is increased from 12.2% to 79.28%. By 2014, the teledensity may shoot up to 85% and the total mobile subscribers would be very closer to 1.159 billion. The main objective of cellular systems is to handle as many calls as possible i.e. more capacity in a given bandwidth in the most efficient way with good quality of service (QoS). Therefore, coverage and capacity are the main important factors for mobile operators, vendors and system providers. Frequency reuse is a technique in cellular mobile communications that improves capacity i.e. same set of frequencies is reused in neighbouring cells by maintaining some distance. However, reuse distance has to be high enough, so that interference caused by subscribers using the same frequency in other cells is sufficiently low.
