The study is consist of two parts, first one is concerned with modifying an-existing procedure that model the two-dimensional moment resisting frame (MRF) of a building for its dynamic behavior to a new model resembling one-dimensional stick model. The second part is resembled by developing a new model consisting of a single-degree-of-freedom (SDOF). The two procedures are assumed to be applicable for both time domain and response spectrum analysis for earthquake base excitation such as (El-Centro) that acts on the original 2D frame model, and applicable for both steel and concrete framed…mehr

The two procedures are assumed to be applicable for both time domain and response spectrum analysis for earthquake base excitation such as (El-Centro) that acts on the original 2D frame model, and applicable for both steel and concrete framed buildings. Both the modified stick model and the developed SDOF model of both steel and concrete buildings are implemented in time domain analysis and response spectrum analysis by using a computer program especially coded and written for the purpose of the study on the basis of MATLAB.
