The all-round development of a nation is measured by the yardstick of its prosperity, stability, and advancement in Engineering and Technological fields. The unprecedented proliferation of knowledge into a variety of disciplines led to the establishment of various institutions with the main objectives of specializing in each field. Libraries are the centres of learning and service oriented institutions. The engineering college library is one of the several major resources that ensure the smooth flow of information for improving the quality of engineering education and research. Most of the library surveys were conducted on public libraries, college libraries and university libraries. Only a few studies have been conducted on engineering college libraries. Hence, the present investigation has been undertaken to survey the engineering college libraries andtheir users in Sri Venkateswara University area.
