When a friend said I should write down some of the memories I had told them about, I never thought it would result in a biography, lots of people trace their family history and I suppose this is just my version. Writing this story has evoked lots of emotions, including bursts of elation, bouts of frustration, tinged with some sadness when I think of what might have been.
