In my opinion the most vital question for the future of African democratization is to determine what works and what does not. Historically the western states have been charitable with the donation of aid but lacking both in will and efficiency when researching and evaluating the actual effect. This thesis presents fresh statistics, hard evidence, of the failure of aid. However it also gives an account to the factors that instead of aid, actually has significance to the development of democracy in Sub- Saharan Africa.
