The project describes the role of sawdust in the construction of buildings and other structures to eliminate the demand of natural sand by using wood waste to replace the use of natural sand. Now a day's usage of concrete has increased widely. Sand is being used as a fine aggregate in concrete. The natural sand become scarce and tremendously increased in cost. Depletion of sand near rivers disturbs the bed level, leads to uneven surface which in turn effects the environment. There is a need to think of alternate materials like wood waste can be used as a replacement of sand. This study focuses on the experimental investigation of using saw- dust as a partial replacement of sand in the properties of concrete mix. Sawdust also known as a by- product or waste product of wood working operations such as sawing, milling, planning, routing, drilling and sanding. Saw dust is the waste material generated by wood-based industry. It is formed as a small irregular chips or small trash of wood during chopping of logs of wooden into different sizes. The dimensions of saw dust depend upon varieties of dimensions of the teeth. Huge quantity of saw dust is generated worldwide every year dumping.
