Bioterrorism is deliberate use of biological agents to cause illness or death in people, animal and plants. It has potential to result in high morbidity and mortality. Historically Greeks, Assyrians, Spain, French, Japan, German, Soviet and America had an incident of use of biological weapons on their enemy nations. Biological agents are typically natural but it can be mutated or altered in lab to cause disease and make them resistant to current medicines. Many mediums to spread bioterrorism along with virulence, infectivity and more lethal characteristics is developed by state as well as by individual. American Centre for Disease Control and Prevention classified bioterrorism according to threat level which represent as Category A, Category B and Category C. To respond to human, animal and plant bio-threat agents a number of laboratory facilities are needed. The laboratories must be equipped with appropriate and evaluated instruments that also are operational in a BSL-3 or BSL-4laboratory. Research and development activities between first responders, forensic institutes and public health officials are required during pandemic if needed.
