In this book, I try to approach in a coherent, scientific and fluent way the reasons that lead family farmers to be disadvantaged in relation to large landowners. Evidently, as an agronomist, I know the immense importance of properties for the generation of jobs as well as for the economy, but I believe that land is a good that should not be distributed in an absurdly unequal way. It is also worth remembering that one of the attributions of the Agronomist Engineer is to study the social issues of the worker and the agrarian issues, in the discipline of rural sociology, which is on the curriculum of all the Agronomy schools in Brazil.
