Information and Communication Technology brings more rich material to the classrooms and libraries for teachers and students. It has broken the monotony and provided variety in the teaching - learning situation. In view of this, using a descriptive research design, this study investigated challenges facing the implementation of ICT programme in primary schools of the Cape Coast Metropolis. Data were collected through the use of a questionnaire from a purposive sample of 525 pupils and 34 ICT teachers who have completed some form of technology training. Participants in this study generally had positive attitudes towards the use of technology and the unparallel importance it brings to bare in the classroom. However, the study also revealed that, the major challenges or problems to technology implementation were accessibility to hardware (overhead projector, etc), inefficiency of technical infrastructure; insufficient number of media for computer use; insufficient instructional software and electronic resources, deficiency in support services for technology and inadequacy of computers for students to use.
