One of the most persistent legacies of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the promotion of the Kazakh language in all spheres of our life. This work evaluates the nominative policy of Kazakhstan and its current implementation (2016-2018 years). For this purpose it provides a historical background and follows the challenges and implementation of the language policy. It looks at the example of Astana city (the capital of Kazakhstan) in order to determine the aspects of the nominative policy. Based on the information and analysis, it provides recommendations on encouraging the using of Kazakh, Russian, and English languages in the linguistic space.
