Autorenporträt
Carol Ethier is a self made success story who overcame crushing hardship and grief from a very early age. Born into a family of Irish and English immigrants to Canada they were ingrained with a grit and determination to survive in a world that took away all that they had and forced their struggle to get it back. The Tapps and Reeds found their chance to endure in the remote region of Ontario, north of Lake Huron. They scraped out a living from a farm on the granite boulder strewn Canadian Shield. When her father, the force behind their struggle to survive this landscape was killed by his tractor before her eyes, this little girl chose to advance and thrive. From her mother she drew on the quiet strength that guided their lives. From that day it would be dedication at work that took Carol from the farm to the creation of five successful companies in the North. This led to a career in the fundraising industry and executive positions that opened doors into the richest board rooms of Toronto's Bay Street and beyond. Her story told here will inspire and instruct anyone that may feel that the odds are stacked against them. The account of her life proves that any adversity can be conquered. The Author, David Wheeler was moved by the stories of her life that she related when they became partners. The motivation to share these experiences will become clear to the reader.
