This essay seeks to answer the following question: What are the policies carried out by the Andean Community of Nations to support national initiatives related to the promotion of education? In order to answer this question, information and indicators on the state of education, levels of development, and an analysis of the social program of the CAN were researched. The objectives of the work are basically two. First, it aims to publicize the proposal of the Andean Community in relation to social development, particularly in the area of education. Secondly, it aims to generate a reflection on the extent to which this initiative is an element of support to the programs of the CAN countries for the eradication of major inequalities and social exclusion in the Andean subregion.
