The book is about to determine the release pattern of Ondansetron from bioadhesive polymers. CMC, HPMC and Carbopol were used as polymers. Direct compressed tablets were assessed for physical and chemical testing. The formulations containing carbopol and HPMC presented improved bio-adhesion and in-vitro release. The order of bioadhesion with relative to polymers was as Carbopol 934P HPMC CMC. Formulations A-5, A-10 and A-12 were the optimum as they followed zero order and Higuchi kinetic model presenting sustained release mechanisms as there R2 values are 0.960, 0.985 and 0.984 respectively.
