This work was carried out in the rural area of the municipality of Los Santos - Santander, with the following procedure: The cladodes were bagged for planting with the different substrates, previously mixed in the case of those containing composted chicken manure. A total of 120 bags were packed in the following manner: 30 bags of caliche soil with composted poultry manure, 30 with fertile soil with composted poultry manure, 30 with caliche soil without the addition of composted poultry manure and 30 with fertile soil without the addition of composted poultry manure. The cactus cladodes were then harvested and treated with Bordeaux broth and lime to prevent them from being attacked by insects and fungi, and left to mature for twelve days in the shade to prevent dehydration. On the same day of planting, the cladodes were divided into two and four parts to avoid dehydration.
