This book addresses the problem of fault tolerance via checkpointing technique in distributed mobile computing and ad hoc networks. A new efficient coordinated and non-blocking checkpointing algorithms based on the transitive dependency information methodology are developed, where only minimum number of mobile hosts in the networks should take checkpoints. The algorithms synchronize their checkpointing activities so that a globally consistent set of checkpoints is always maintained in the system. These algorithms are domino effect-free, do not require channels to be FIFO and ensure that each…mehr

These algorithms are domino effect-free, do not require channels to be FIFO and ensure that each checkpoint taken is part of a consistent global state. The performance analysis and simulation results show that the proposed schemes performs well compared to works related.
