In high rise buildings Flat plate floor structures are uncertain in resisting lateral loads. Hence lateral load resisting systems like Braced walls, outriggers, structural walls like RC Infill Walls and shear walls are to be provided. In the present work a comparative study has been conducted with respect to the height of the RC framed structure i.e. number of storeys of the RC framed structure such as 20 storey, 40 storey, 60 storey and 80 storey are analyzed using STAAD.PRO(V8i) software. For each of these structures three comparisons have been made; one comparison is Conventional Beam supported slab structure compared with Flat Plate RC Framed structure, Flat Plate Framed structure compared with Flat Plate Framed structure having external peripheral RC Infill Wall and Conventional Beam supported slab Framed structure compared with Flat Plate Framed structure having external peripheral RC Infill Wall.In these comparisons the Critical Column Axial Forces, Critical Column momentsdue to gravity and wind loads and Lateral Drift (in mm) in X, Z direction due to Wind loads are observed. Basic wind speed of 44 m/s is considered for these structures located at Hyderabad, INDIA.
