The design of flood protection schemes in the Muskingum River Basin, Ohio, USA brought about this method of flow routing. It reviews literature and cite in every section which is not customary. Data previously worked upon by renowned authors were routed using the Microsoft spreadsheet basic principles with little programming in the MS Excels cells. References to papers cited for nonlinear models may be essential to better understand the philosophy behind nonlinear Muskingum method.
