Autorenporträt
Rev. Dr. Mittie K. Carey, the fourth of six children, was born in the rural South. Her father was both a Baptist pastor and a sharecropper, and her mother was, and still is, the epitome of a strong Christian woman of unwavering faith. Mittie's upbringing and personal journey bolster her empathic love for the marginalized, her inalienable voice, and her resolve to use them both across all available avenues, for the glory of God. They were also instrumental in her attaining a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Christian Brothers University, Memphis, Tennessee; a Master of Divinity from Memphis Theological Seminary; and a PhD in Communication from the University of Memphis. She unapologetically adores her family-her nonagenarian mother, Mrs. Mary A. Knowles, her husband Jesse, her two adult sons, her four amazing grandchildren, and her beautiful and brilliant great-granddaughter.
