This book describes the technique of pore pressure prediction and hydrocarbon characterization in encased reservoirs on inverted seismic sections. The technique entails the application of non-angle post-stack seismic amplitude data inversion for the purpose of estimating and extracting the rock property Vp and attribute Zp. To achieve the inversion, the 3-D amplitude data is integrated with well data obtained from the same field, enabling the interpreter to build a high resolution 3-D p-impedance earth model from which the diagnostic rock property and attribute (Vp and Zp) are extracted. Produktbeschreibung
The inputs to the p-impedance earth model building and actual sparse spike inversion/deconvolution include p-sonic, density log, seismic synthetics, and estimated wavelets from the well with the same ranges of frequency, amplitude and phase spectra. The window for the inversion and subsequent quantitative interpretation is set within a time range that encapsulates the reservoirs of interest, while the parameters of the inversion are controlled to ensure that reasonable results are obtained.
