It then discusses the various parties to a contract and their relevant obligations, whether they are engineers, contractors or subcontractors. It also addresses standard practices when drafting and revising contracts, as well as what can be expected in standard contracts general clauses. Two chapters are dedicated to contract clauses, with one focused on contract administration such as schedules, payment certificates and defects liability, and the other focused on contract management, such as terminations, dispute resolutions and claims.

This book provides a useful reference to engineers, project managers andstudents within the field of engineering and construction management.

Autorenporträt
Dr. Ali D. Haidar has gained a B.Sc. and a M.Sc. in Civil Engineering, from Oklahoma State University in 1983 and 1984, respectively. He then received his Ph.D. from the School of Construction, South Bank University, London, in 1996, and a second M.Sc., this time in Construction Law, from the School of Construction Law and Arbitration, King's College, London, in 2007. He has over 15 published papers and 6 published books on the topics of construction contracts and claims. He has recently been working in the Mena region, providing his great experience through dealing in some of the largest projects built in the recent decade with emphasis on Contractual and Legal issues. He has also been representing one of the large consultancy firms in the Middle East, international clients and government agencies on program management, legal and contracts matters.
