Traditional approaches to process management like expert systems, phenomenological models etc. are not adequate. This book discussesa novel approach to manage the process by autonomously generating linguistic cause-and-effect rules from the process data. A new concept of Truth-Space Diagram has been proposed and combined with fuzzy logic to assess these linguistic rules. Techniques to incorporate the dynamic and temporal features of the process in the fuzzy model have also been developed.
