This book addresses landslide hazard problem, which is the the critical issue for society living in mountainous terrain. Landslides can be initiated by both intrinsic and external parameters, which collectively pose serious impact on the life of people and damage properties (both public and private). There are several approaches in use to quantify the degree of landslide hazard. Slope Susceptibility Evaluation Parameter Rating Scheme is the Heuristic approach which depends on field data collected facet wise and considers both internal and external landslide causing parameters. Landslide hazards cannot be stopped but the impact can be minimized by using some structural and non structural measures.
