ShorttitleThe non-ionizing and non-invasive nature of light and its polarization property coupled with the possibility of performing functional imaging, has ushered in new interest in bio-medical optical imaging. In this research work we have characterized the bio-materials with Mueller matrix optical polarimetry. The images and matrix elements with Mueller calculus provides a comprehensive information of samples due to which it is possible to combine all the necessary parameters for describing a beam of light into a single image. It condense all the necessary parameters for describing a given polarizer, retarder, or scatterer into a single package, and provide a set of rules whereby the result of interposing any given polarizer, retarder, or scatterer in a given beam can be determined merely by multiplying the appropriate images together in a standard manner. Thus the outcome of any pertinent experiment can be determined by one fixed procedure, selecting the appropriate packagesfrom a table and multiplying them together.
