Most of them live and work in this sector not because it is their wish or choice, but because they have no chance to be hired by an employer from the formal sector except for a few hours or days, with no legal right to be hired again.In developed countries the informal sector is characterized by unreported employment. This is hidden from the state for tax, social security or labour law purposes but is legal in all other aspects.
