The most versatile form of clean energy resource is solar and wind energy. Though there are other form of renewable energy do exists; the above two are considered to be the best choice because of its abundant availability, easy to convert, hazard free nature, and zero cost. Both these energy resources posses the potential to handle the energy threat created by huge energy demand. Compared to wind energy, the solar energy have certain favorable characteristics like zero noise, less maintenance, no movable parts, no heavy structure, and safety that gained its popularity. India receives the highest solar insolation of 5.5 kWh/m2/day with annual sunshine of 2600 to 3200 hours equivalent to 5000 trillion kWh of power generation. The favorable characteristics of solar increased its usage in various fields of applications covering industrial and domestic sectors. By keep in mind of this in this authors have worked on various maximum power point tracking techniques to extract the maximumpower from the solar PV and developed technique is compared with various conventional MPPT techniques.
