Doctor of Technical Sciences. He graduated from Russian high school with a silver medal in 1963, and from Georgian Polytechnic University with honors in 1969. In 1982 he defended his doctoral dissertation in Moscow. Specialist in systems theory, automatic equations and systems, microparticle physics.
