The levels of some nutrient elements in Zaria surface water system were investigated for one year. Some proximate parameters and some nutrient elements levels were determined in liver, kidney, heart, flesh and gills of Clarias gariepenus, Lates niloticus and Oreochromis niloticus harvested from the University Dam, Bomo Lake and Zaria Dam. Sampling was conducted monthly for a period of one year a period which covered both rainy and dry seasons and standard methods were used for the determination of the different parameters. Results revealed high percentages moisture, organic matter contents and high levels of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium during the rainy season, while percentages dry matter and ash contents were higher during dry season.
