Throughout his career, Special Agent Charette received numerous awards for his accomplishments, including the development of new and innovative techniques for undercover work and investigations in narcotic enforcement. Pierre A. Charette, born and raised in Valleyfield, Quebec, Canada, and Hollywood, Florida. He graduated High School at South Broward High School in Hollywood, Florida in 1963. He joined the U.S. Army in 1963 and became a Military Police Officer and discharged in 1966, with an Honorable Discharge. He joined the Broward County Sheriff's Department in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1966 as a Deputy Sheriff and was promoted to Detective in 8 months to worked in Vice/Narcotic, as an Undercover Deputy for 7 years. He earned his degree in Police Science and Technology at Broward Community College where he graduated with an AS Degree. He was hired by DEA as a Special Agent in 1972 to go to France, since he spoke Fluent French, to work Undercover on the famous Criminal Organization known as "THE FRENCH CONNECTION". He served in Paris, Nice France as the Country Attaché, RAIC Columbia S.C., Supervisor Atlanta, GA, Staff Coordinator/ Internal Affair Inspector in Washington D.C., and Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Miami, Fla. Mr. Charette received numerous awards during his elite career. He was Police Officer of the year in the Military Police, Broward Sheriff's Department. He received numerous Letters of Commendation from Foreign Governments and Domestic Police Agencies in the U.S. He was involved as a supervisor in making the largest Cocaine case in the History of the United States in Atlanta, GA. Mr. Charette has been featured on the History Chanel, on Canadian Television which did his Life Story and has lectured at numerous Police Academy and DEA State and Local Police Schools, throughout the U.S.
