In the second book of the Parallel Missions series, encounters with alien species create both problems that could lead to disaster and opportunities that may increase their Team support. Larry L. Sydow is a retired Lutheran pastor. He previously published "Let Them Answer," a book of children's sermons. ?Parallel Missions-the Journey Begins? is the first in the PARALLEL MISSIONS series, which includes ?Parallel Challenges,? ?Parallel in Jeopardy,? and ?Parallel Promises.? Shortly after retirement, he began writing the first of the series. After failing retirement the first time (of four tries) and moving to Roswell, New Mexico, he continued the science fantasy series. While his passion is ministry, his relaxation is found in writing. He grew up as a Nebraska farm boy, earned a B.A. and an M. Div., and served more than 40 years as a parish pastor. In addition to his responsibilities as an intentional interim pastor, Larry enjoys music. He sings, plays piano, organ, and guitar. He is also a Master Gardener, specializing in medicinal herbs and herb-lore. He and his wife, Susan, celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2018. They have two sons and three grandchildren living in the Seattle area.
