These kerosene lamps may be contributing to global warming owing to their large numbers in rural and semi-urban areas. This book contain findings to investigation of the suitability of straight vegetable oil as a lighting fuel, the performance of unmodified lamp, retrofitted pressure lamp utilizing straight vegetable oil (SVO)/kerosene blends.

L'auteur est titulaire d'un baccalauréat technologique en génie industriel et d'une maîtrise en génie mécanique. Eng. et passe actuellement son doctorat en ingénierie mécanique. Il a enseigné la thermodynamique et la mécanique des fluides dans de nombreux collèges et universités du Kenya. Il est actuellement président des départements d'ingénierie mécanique et électrique de l'université de Kirinyaga, au Kenya.
